Have you ever prayed about something and absolutely believed that God could perform a miracle or touch your need? I mean like really pray knowing He had to intervene in your situation. Then, you are amazed and maybe even shocked at how God answered your prayer! I have been there several times. I have heard and even questioned why we are so shocked that God actually answered our prayers. Maybe I am the only one, but this is how I have felt. This week alone God placed something different upon my heart. My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed on Monday. Our family has been faced with a lot of sickness in the past few weeks on top of my son needing surgery. It just seemed like a lot had come upon us. My husband and I were praying we made the right decision along with the ENT. I am not sure why, but I just really prayed hard about his surgery. It was the first one he had experienced and is much older than his sister was when she had tubes and her adenoids removed. Maybe, it was just something so new to both of us that I was a little anxious. We prayed hard. Our Pastor and family prayed right before the surgery. We were also praying his recovery would go well. The surgery did go well and once we were home from the surgery, all my son wanted to do was eat. He was to be on a liquid diet for the first 24 hours. That was hard. He ate several Popsicles and two small bowls of ice cream and he still kept saying he was hungry. My husband and I were looking at each other like “what in the world?!” We couldn’t believe how much he wanted to eat and how well he was acting since we left his surgery. At first I was in awe and shocked. Then, it hit me as I was texting someone about how he was doing. I said, “His recovery seems to be going better than expected but exactly what we’ve prayed for!“ I originally started to stop after the word expected, but decided we were expecting it to go well. I believed it would go well and had faith so I shouldn’t be amazed. That was exactly what I had faith for when praying to God about the surgery. I praise Him for answering our prayers! So, the next time you face a situation where you know you need Jesus, put your faith in Him and Praise Him for answering your prayers. It may not always be the way we expect or want it, but when He answers our prayers we must give Him ALL the glory and praise!
